Co-founded in June 2020 by Abdul and Leeza Popal, iniBurger was born out of a desire to create a superior, tech-forward, and completely inclusive dining experience in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prior to launching iniBurger, Abdul and Leeza were franchisees of the Burgerim brand, a slider chain that suffered from severe corporate and operational failures, leaving hundreds of local franchisees stranded. Rather than giving up, the Popals used their technology backgrounds and entrepreneurial spirit to pivot. They took control of their own destiny, rebranding their locations and building an entirely new, stable, and quality-focused restaurant model from scratch.
The result was iniBurger. The Popals realized that the market was missing a premium, fast-casual concept that served both the underserved Halal-conscious community and quality-focused mainstream consumers. They built a supply chain focused on 100% Halal-certified proteins, USDA Choice Angus beef, cage-free antibiotic-free chicken, and fresh-baked non-GMO buns, ensuring that quality was baked into every single menu item.
